Shedding (almost) all for cancer

The four kilometre-long Etana daREDevil Speedo Run through the streets of Parktown happened this year on October 15, 2010, and some 600 men took part, wearing nothing but red or white Speedos and their running shoes (although some accessorised with fishnet stockings, capes and wigs – pictures don’t lie).

The annual run, launched in 2009, is all in the name of raising awareness of and funds for prostate and testicular cancer, and encourages men to take their health seriously and themselves less so.

In an effort to increase awareness beyond South Africa’s borders, this year’s run was also an attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of Speedo-clad men taking part in an event of this kind.

Congratulations to Rhett, Lloyd, Deon and Roscoe for putting their balls on the line and taking part in this fantastic event!
