Expect the unexpected! 2014 has predictably delivered its fair share of trials and tribulations. Together with you, our special clients we hold our heads up and continue to prosper regardless of what challenges get thrown in our path. We bid farewell to Theresa Legodi who recently retired after almost 40 years’ service at Barkers. Our Barker Family has however grown with three new members joining our Team this year; Ana Balanco now looks after our Front office, Fiona Pickersgill adds more years of experience to our Claims Team and lastly Rosina Moloatsi is assisting Enneth Nyandeni with our Client hospitality and office catering following Ennie’s recent knee replacement surgery. We continue to take responsibility for providing you and all our “Select Private Clients” with a UNIQUE insurance solution with an unmatched positive personal touch. As you may already know we review all our Select Private Clients Policies on the 1st of November annually and if you have not already received your updated insurance policy schedule by email or post, you will be receiving yours by no later than the 25th October 2014.

We would like to bring to your attention a few points of interest and a number of very important developments over the past 12 months at Barkers;

  • Our insurer, Hollard Insurance was voted No 1 personal lines insurer of the year by FIA in 2014.

  • Our Barker Insurance No Claims CASH BACK incentive continues to pay dividends. Clients could receive between 10% and 15% of their annual premiums back depending on the success of our overall Select Insurance Facility for that period. View more on our Cash Back Bonus

  • We will be introducing an area specific BAD WEATHER WARNING sms service for all clients in November this year which will help us all to reduce storm related claims.

  • In the event of a motor accident the maximum Car Hire Days has been increased from 30 to 40 days with NO fuel or E-Toll deposit and NO vehicle hire accident excess - an industry first!

  • Since our inception in 1973 we have NOT had a single client claim complaint referred to the Insurance Ombudsman and this is due to the fact that we go out of our way to ensure that cover is adequate and claims are settled fairly.
