Barker’s Ennie Nyandeni Retires After 39 years

Ennie

At Barker, we believe that people are the reason for everything that we do, and everything we represent. That is why, we are extremely heartsore to announce that Ennie Nyandeni will be retiring, after 39 years of faultless service to Barker Insurance.

Ennie joined Barker Insurance way back in 1982, and referred to herself as the Kitchen Manager. Everyone grew to know that anything kitchen-related was her department and she certainly ran it impeccably!

Anyone who meets Ennie is naturally drawn to her warm and authentic personality. Family is everything to Ennie, and as such, she loves spending time with her treasured family, as well as friends from church.

We were (and still are) all considered her children. From her unconditional love and care, to her inspirational words of wisdom, Ennie was certainly the mother figure we all looked up to. But don’t get us wrong, she could be quite the disciplinarian when it came to banning us from her culinary arena when we got in the way of her tightly run ship, or were caught red-handed trying to steal a little morsel here and there.

No matter how badly someone’s day was going, Ennie was able to instantaneously turn their frowns upside down with the loudest, most infectious laugh within the building.

It goes without saying that Ennie was the most adored person in Team Barker and will be missed beyond belief.

Ennie’s absence has left a big hole in our hearts here at Barker, we truly miss her vivacious character and genuine , positive energy.

We wish you all the best, Ennie. If anyone deserves a happy, long retirement, it’s you. Please visit us as often as possible. You have been and always will be family, as you are, of course, our “Mama Ennie”.
